As the hot weather sets in, it’s important to help your pets keep cool. Heat stroke poses a real risk to dogs and along with well known steps like only walking in the early morning and late evening, always carrying water and never leaving them in the car, there’s one more way that is sure to go down a treat with your furry friends. Puppy ice lollies!
With summer kicking in, Morrisons has announced it’s now selling these playful Paw Pops from Woof & Brew.
Developed in partnerships with vets to assure suitability for dogs, the frozen treats are made with natural, herbal ingredients and come in freezer packs of six lollies for £5.
Jaymie Broughton, Morrisons Pet Care & Treats Buyer said in the press release: “With the summer predicted to be a hot one, we want to help customers look after their pets and ensure that no-one misses out on having fun in the sun. These Woof & Brew Paw Pops are perfect for cooling down dogs in the heat and are the cheapest price on the high street.”
The pops have an RRP of £6 but are currently 20% off at the supermarket, even more reason to stock up now.
If you wanted to have a go at making your own, Battersea dogs and cats home shared recipes for DIY pet lollies, opting for frozen treats for the animals in their care.
Rebecca MacIver, Rehoming and Welfare Manager at Battersea said: “Hot weather can be really uncomfortable for dogs and cats, so it’s important that owners do a bit of forward planning on keeping their pets cool in higher temperatures.
“At Battersea we give our canine and feline residents a frozen treat on warmer days, as part of their regular healthy balanced diets, to help keep them as comfortable as possible.”
Turns out dogs might enjoy ice lollies as much as us!
