Around the Community: ‘Love’ is positive word of the week | Lifestyle

Hello, once again…soon we will be wishing our volunteer friends and family “Happy Valentine’s Day”, sharing our love and appreciation for accompanying us on the journey of our lives.

“Love” is our positive word for this week.

My favorite verse is found in I Corinthians 13:13 in the Bible, “And now abides faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love.”

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote: “Love gives itself. It can’t be bought. We are fortunate to have an incredible array of nonprofit organizations in our beloved Citrus County who lovingly share their precious time and talents to meet the growing needs of others.

Voltaire (1694-1778) was the pseudonym of François M. Arouet, one of the greatest French writers. He is best known for his brilliant and witty style of prose. He wrote, “I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it,” which reminds me of a quote from David S. Arthurs, editor emeritus, which appears on the editorial page of the Chronicle, “You may disagree with my choice, but not with my right to choose. Of love, Voltaire wrote: “Love is a canvas provided by nature and embroidered by the imagination.

There is a power of love within ourselves and others waiting to be expressed in loving kindness along the volunteer journey.

As we hold others close in our prayers, mind and heart, blessing them for their humanitarian efforts, we are guided to our highest good, the very essence of life.

With love, we can commit to being patient, forgiving, and allowing others to be themselves without judgment as they find their way in life. Love encourages and affirms the power of positive thinking.
